FEVER is Body's Protective Mechanism

In your first aid kit at home it is important to have a thermometer.  One of the first tools to have and use if anyone at home is not feeling well is to take their temperature and look at their tongue.  A fever is an elevation in body temperature.  It is the body's protective mechanism against infection.  The elevation happens when our immune system is fighting off bacteria and viruses that could harm the body.  Fever is our strongest weapon in the fight against infections or disease.  Normal body temperature ranges form 36-37C*  Babies and children have a temperature run 1 degrees higher than adults.  If the temperature goes above 39C* then you need to work to bring it down. If you can maintain the temperature at 39C* and below this is beneficial  for the body as the immune system is heating the body up to fit the virus, kill off infection and eliminate toxins.  You don't want it to go above 39C*.....
Here are some handy tools to use if you have anyone with a fever to help bring it down.
.     Drink plenty of liquids with your amino's - this gives you electrolytes that can help replace water balance in the body and prevent dehydration.
.     Sponge palms of hands soles of feet with cool water this helps to draw heat away from the central nervous system and draw it down to the extremities. Also use a cold flannel or ice pack on head or back of neck - other area's that can help is the sacrum or in between groin.
.     Another handy tip is to damp a cotton sheet and wrap the person in the cool damp sheet.
.     Cool sits baths help to lower fever (make sure to keep chest warm)
.     When the fever goes up there can be  a loss of thrust and appetite.  It is very important watch for dehydration. If there is difficulty getting liquids in then open a capsules of charcoal sprinkle into ice trays with water and juice if desired and freeze. Once frozen as ice blocks then rub ice cubes around lips and have them suck on the ice cube with charcoal.  The charcoal will help adsorbs the virus and remove bacteria and the liquid will help to rehydrate.
.     If fever doesn't come down then seek medical advice.
